Perfect Puppy Training

Good Dog Academy offers different programs to address your specific puppy rearing needs. Training starts the moment you pick your puppy enters your home. We believe that you have a tremendous amount of influence over the long-term behavioral health of your puppy... by taking immediate proactive action, you will impact your pup’s ability to bond properly with people, socialize appropriately with other dogs, react without various situations, and display pleasant, good manners when out in public.

Breed selection consult (1 hour). The consult focuses on an assessment of family needs, lifestyle, interests in temperaments, and both grooming and exercise requirements. Good Dog Academy will utilize this information in developing a list of various breeds that will make a good match for the family. Further guidance will be provided in communicating with your selected breeder or in visiting our local shelter for temperament assessments.
This fee is included in the Perfect Puppy Package.

Perfect Puppy In-home Training Package (2 hour initial consult followed by 5 additional 1 hour training sessions). Addresses housetraining, bite inhibition, proper and safe socialization, management in the household for problem prevention, care and proper handling, crate training, education on puppy development and k-9 learning, strategies for raising a behaviorally healthy pup, and foundation skills for basic manners training.

Study Hall: Following an initial consultation, you can focus specifically on one key area of concern. Trainer will meet with you for a one hour session to address any of the following: housetraining, mouthing, problem jumping, leash pulling, or recall problems.

Puppy Boot-Camp: In-Home Boarding and Training or Full time Day Care in the home environment of Certified Pet Dog Trainer, Gila Kurtz. Puppies under 20 weeks of age will receive loving care while being housetrained, taught to settle through crate training, learn basic manners such as polite greetings and how to walk on a loose lead, and be introduced to obedience cues “sit”, “down”, “stay”, “come”. Daily exercises to encourage bite inhibition and prevent resource guarding will also be implemented. Your pup will be socialized in a safe environment to ensure a positive foundation for sound development. This option is ideal for extremely busy families and working professionals who want a healthy jumpstart for their new furry family member.

Fee includes all educational materials to assist you in furthering your pup’s progress towards becoming a well-mannered member of the household. During the course, you will also have specific training sessions with Gila to ensure your knowledge and transfer of proper training techniques.
